Future plans for Kid Zombie and Bruno
The story continues...but updates to the webcomic have come to an end (for now) with page 8 of Chapter 2. I've been wondering for a while what I ultimately want to do with Kid Zombie and Bruno, the webcomic. It's been over a year since I began the adventure, and I've enjoyed doing the work immensely. I've always wanted to create a comic book--meaning an actual printed comic. KZB, the webcomic, came about as a sensible way to get a story out into the world at a pace that I could handle, considering I don't have the luxury of working on it full time. As I've said in the past, I wish I could get the story out there faster-- but hey, things are how they are. The webcomic has always been free entertainment for anyone who is interested in reading it. The work up to this point will remain that way on this website indefinitely.
Now, my plan for the future: I've decided to shift gears a bit. KZB is going to change from a webcomic to a digital comic and possibly a printed comic; either as individual issues or as a trade paperback as soon as the work is ready. When I say digital comic, I'm talking about the typical digital version of a comic book that you'd buy and dowload from large and small comic publishers out there; from DC Comics and Marvel on down to idependents like myself; comics that publishers sell on their own websites and sites like ComiXology.com (check it out if you haven't). Of course, it's not going to happen over night. It's not going to take me any less time to do the work than it has so far. I just hope everyone who has been reading KZB will hang in there while I complete Chapter 2 and on from there. Right now, I plan on each comic being 24 pages. Number 1 (Chapter 1) is already complete and Chapter 2 has 16 pages to go. KZB will be a limited series of probably four issues. Any future stories will most likely be a limited series format also.
The work that I've done so far will remain on this website. The home page will show page 1 of Chapter 1, so any new readers who show up in the future can just start reading from the beginning. As always, I'm excited about the future of KZB (now the comic book). As I make progess, I'll be posting some sneak previews here on the website and on Facebook. I'll continue to use the RSS feed as a method to alert readers of news, so please subscribe to it.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support. I can't wait to share the rest of the story with you, so stick around, there's a lot more action on the way!
